Everything you need to know about MOCHA

“My daughter loves coming to MOCHA, and it always leaves her in a good mood.”
—Little Artists parent

How old does my child have to be to come to MOCHA?

All programs at MOCHA are open to children age 18 months and up, and our Oakland Parks and Recreation Play Groups are open to families with children 8 months and up. Older children are always welcome, too!

Which programs and events are free?

Drop-in art is free to members. Our gallery is always free to the public.  Refer to our calendar to see other free events.

Can I drop my child off at MOCHA? Do you offer daycare?

You must remain with your child at all times (the only exception is art camp). Not only is this a legal requirement, it is in keeping with our aim to provide valuable art experiences in which children and parents participate together.

What if I have other children who are younger than 18 months?

You can bring children younger than 18 months old to MOCHA as long as you can supervise them along with your other children who are engaged in artmaking.

Is MOCHA accessible to people with disabilities?

All of MOCHA's studios and galleries are wheelchair accessible.

What are the benefits of membership?

Members enjoy unlimited free visits to drop-in art, a 10% discount on camp and art parties, and many other benefits. Click here for more information on membership.

Do you do more than visual arts, such as music or drama?

We often incorporate movement, music, play-acting, and other arts in our programs, but we are primarily a hands-on visual arts organization.
