EXHIBITION & CALL FOR YOUNG ARTISTS
Singular Creations: salon of the independents
January 8 – February 29

MOCHA opens its gallery to all creative 
youth.  This annual open exhibit showcases the 
wide range of invention and ability from children throughout the Bay Area.
Reception: January 12 | 2-4pm

MOCHA invites all children & youth ages 17 and 
under to submit work to Singular Creations, our 
annual exhibition showcasing the work of children 
and youth from throughout the Bay Area.
All media welcome. Bring work, along with a 
completed entry form, to MOCHA (538 Ninth Street, 
Suite 210 in Old Oakland) between January 2–6, noon to 5pm.

SATURDAY STORIES
Marina’s Capoeira Countdown by Oscar Wolters-Duran
january 5 | 1-2 p.m.| FREE

The first Saturday of every month, MOCHA links 
literacy with art, featuring children's stories 
read out loud followed by artmaking based on the 
themes of these captivating tales. This month, 
we’ll hear about Marina, who his ready to hang up 
her green belt because she can’t seem to do her 
Capoeira kick. Then we’ll move our bodies to make art with our feet and hands.

FAMILY EXTRAVAGANZAS
I’ve Been Framed Workshop
january 5 & 6 | 1–4pm |$7 per child

Bring in a favorite piece of art and learn to 
frame and mat your work to turn it into a true 
masterpiece.  Then enter your piece into 
MOCHA’s  Singular Creations exhibit.  Materials Free!

Techno Geek Art Challenge
January 19, 2008 | 1–4pm |$7  per child

Become a gadgeteer and join fuses, resistors, 
capacitors and thingamajigs to create spectacular 
sculptural devices.  Prizes for invention and ingenuity for all participants!
