EXHIBITION

the many colors of islam: islam berwarna-warni
january 10-february 23

This exhibit features artwork by children from four prominent 
Indonesian art organizations. The children were asked to create their 
self-portrait or a narrative piece illustrating their experience with 
Islam.  Over 100 children enthusiastically participated, creating 
works that provide a window into their world:  their lives in 
Indonesia, their values and beliefs as well as their traditions. 
Using the international language of art, these young exhibitors 
illustrate our common humanity while celebrating the diverse 
characteristics of their culture.


SATURDAY STORIES

i saw an ant on the railroad track
february 3 | 1-4 p.m.| free

The first Saturday of every month, MOCHA links literacy with art, 
featuring children's stories read out loud followed by artmaking 
based on the themes of these captivating tales. On January 6 we will 
read I Saw an Ant on the Railroad Track by Joshua Prince and Macky 
Pamintuan, then create bugs and trains. Saturday Stories are 
sponsored by Target.

WEEKEND EXTRAVAGANZAS

february 11 | 1-4 p.m. | $5 per child | 10% discount for members
Weekend fun for the whole family! We'll have all the Valentine 
trimmings to help you design unique handmade cards and gifts.

chinese new year: year of the boar
february 18 | 1-4 p.m. |  $5 per child | 10% discount for members

There's double the family fun this month! Celebrate the New Year with 
a portable paper dragon and a Year of the Boar piggy bank for all 
your shiny new pennies.
