Open Studio

Create, explore and discover in our drop-in studio space!

Open Studio is a space where artists of all ages create, share and connect through art. At MOCHA we believe that art and art-making is for everyone and we have designed our Open Studio to operate under this philosophy. Artists are free to explore whatever captivates their interest and the MOCHA artist will always be available to help locate materials, provide technical instruction, and suggest age appropriate activities.

Eco Art

This fall we will be making art inspired by nature and the environment. Projects will rotate weekly and will incorporate the importance of taking care of our environment by recycling, reusing etc. Open studio will transform into a jungle/habitat with leaves, branches, and anything else found in gardens.

Meet the Artist

MOCHA is happy to announce that we have a new Open Studio Artist in Residence,  Ximena Vilela! Ximena has followed the mentality of process vs product through her art teaching. She grew up surrounded by artists, developing a strong passion for art. She has been an art educator in the Bay Area for 3 years and enjoys working with children of all ages, including adults. Her love for art has prompted her to learn different techniques, styles. She loves ECO art, printmaking, fashion design, and mixed media.
