| Overall Job Description |
The Museum of Children’s Art operates an art gallery and art studio for children and provides educational outreach programs in the schools and community. MOCHA serves more than 25,000 children annually. MOCHA’s programs include Museum, Artists in the Schools, Early Childhood and Professional Development. The Marketing and Development Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing MOCHA’s marketing activities, conducting member outreach, and assisting the Development and Communications Director with development/fundraising activities and media relations.

| Position Responsibilities |
Marketing and Public Relations.
- Write and oversee production of MOCHA quarterly calendar, monthly e-news, website text and photo gallery, and other promotional/membership materials
- Oversee electronic outreach – e.g., posting event listings to websites and listservs
- Evaluate advertising opportunities and coordinate ad placement and production
- Work with Board of Directors’ Marketing Committee to develop and implement marketing plan
- Assist Development and Communications Director with writing and distributing press releases and calendar listings, responding to press inquiries, updating media lists and maintaining clippings files
Member Outreach and Events
- Evaluate and assess MOCHA’s current membership and member relations efforts
- Develop and implement membership incentive program
- Organize outreach events for members, prospective members, donors and the general public
- Design and implement member satisfaction measures (e.g., member surveys) and report to program and administrative teams on results
- Serve as staff liaison to Board Marketing Committee and work with committee to draft and regularly update marketing plan
Development
- Maintain donor database and run regular donor reports
- Coordinate with Administrative Assistant to send donor acknowledgments
- Assist with annual appeal and other donor outreach projects
- Assist with coordination of funding proposals as needed
Other duties as assigned. |
| Position Qualifications: |
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience developing and implementing successful marketing projects or programs (nonprofit marketing experience a plus.)
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities, public speaking skills and proofreading skills
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and FileMaker Pro, plus willingness and ability to learn donor database software. Desktop publishing experience a plus.
- A creative, innovative, motivated individual who possesses working knowledge of the arts and education fields and an understanding of nonprofit culture
- Flexibility, a sense of humor and ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with attention to detail
- Public relations and/or membership outreach experience a plus
