Overall Job Description

The Museum of Children’s Art operates an art gallery and art studio for children and provides educational outreach programs in the schools and community. MOCHA serves more than 25,000 children annually. MOCHA’s programs include Museum, Artists in the Schools, Early Childhood and Professional Development. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for:

  • Supporting Executive, Administrative, Early Childhood, Artists in the Schools and Professional Development programs

  • Assisting Administrative & Technology Coordinator with financial, personnel, technology and facility management systems

  • Meeting with MOCHA staff

  • This Position Reports To Administrative & Technology Coordinator
    Position Responsibilities

      Administrative Support. Provide operational and administrative support to all programs, including word processing, database and financial accounting, payroll and personnel processing, including but not limited to the preparation of grant proposals, donor acknowledgement letters, program reports, and promotional materials.

      Assistant to Administrative & Technology Coordinator. Working with Administrative & Technology Coordinator to assist in the coordination of program resources and administrative system design and planning. Including but not limited to facility management, technology integration, and office support. Supporting the Executive Director and Director of Finance & Administration with clerical support.

      Program Support. Provide program support to departments in regards to personnel coordination, staff correspondence, contract management, and clerical assistance.

      Other duties as assigned.


    Position Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit arts administration.

    • Computer Literate with strong experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Internet mail and application experience highly desirable.

    • Customer Service Skills with a strong ability to interact with artists, administrators, children and their families in a positive and courteous manner.

    • Organizational Skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
