Donate to MOCHA
Help keep art a vital part of our community— for everyone!
What your support means
Your support helps us maintain our innovative and highly effective art programs, which reach more than 30,000 children in schools and libraries, at community sites, and in our museum every year. We are committed to bringing art and arts learning to schools and communities with limited access to arts programming. We rely on our donors to support this important work.
When you join MOCHA's donor family, your tax-deductible gift helps us:
- Bring in-depth arts learning to more than 60 East Bay schools, preschools and libraries through school-day and afterschool artist residencies
- Engage children and families in hands-on art activities that foster skill-building and creative, positive interaction
- Build young children’s school readiness skills
- Instruct and mentor teachers in using art to reach students, especially at-risk children, English Language Learners and those who are not otherwise engaged in school
- Contribute to a strong, vital and diverse community
How will my money be spent?
MOCHA spends about 75% of every gift on programs that directly reach children and educators. Less than 25% of each donation is directed toward operating costs. National nonprofit management organizations state that 25 cents per dollar is average for operating costs, and that up to 40 cents is acceptable.

How do I request a donation of a MOCHA membership for a fundraising event?
MOCHA donates a limited number of memberships to nonprofit organizations to use as auction or raffle items for fundraising events. Due to the volume of requests, we typically limit donations to other organizations serving Oakland and the East Bay. Please allow at least 30 days for us to process your request.
