Dear MOCHA Friends and Family,
WITHOUT MOCHA, OVER 30,000 EAST BAY CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES WOULD BE WITHOUT ART IN THEIR LIVES EVERY YEAR.
It is, however, more devastating and complex than that. Without MOCHA, vital relationships between teachers and students, kids and parents, artists and educators, and children experiencing art with other children, would not exist. This is why MOCHA matters.
At MOCHA, we are not just making art. We foster actual change. After nearly two and a half decades our services have established deep roots within East Bay schools and libraries, particularly in disadvantaged communities. We provide safe, creative and empowering spaces and places. This is why MOCHA matters.
The impact as we have seen over the last 24 years is profound! Children and students that we reach grow their confidence, self-esteem and skills in critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration and communication. This is why MOCHA matters.
It is a defining moment in MOCHA’s history. Our work is endangered because of less available funding from foundations, local governments and donors at a time when our reach must branch out to deliver on our community’s most urgent needs.
I am hoping that you will renew your support and enable us to continue to carry out our mission for another quarter of a century. I am asking you to double your contributions so we can double our efforts.
MOCHA believes that art education is the best investment we can make in elevating the lives of our children and strengthening our community. We know you believe it too.
Thank you for your support,
