Special Addition Summer Camps

Maker, Inventor, Creator, Artist

In this week long camp we will blur the lines between art, science and maker culture. Students will explore with familiar materials and objects to create their own contraptions, machines, inventions and art works. Each day campers will make and tinker to create a variety of projects, drawing robots (with motors) automatons that crank and move, play with light to create cyanotype photos, and learn about self-sustaining ecosystems by creating a living terrarium.

Art, Design, and Construction

Art and Design camp will focus on re-thinking everyday objects and dabbling in art projects from a design perspective. In this camp we will use many different art materials to explore the world of design. Campers will build small furniture, design a “dream” room and learn some fun and basic perspective drawing skills. We will learn about influential designers such as Charles and Ray Eames and Edith Heath.
