Open Studio Closed 9/11-9/14

Our Open Studio hours will be closed the week of September 11-14, in preparation for our Art IS STEAM Fundraiser Gala that will take place Saturday, September 14, 2019.

We will re-open to our normal business hours the following week Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

Art IS STEAM Equity Forum & Gala

 

On September 14, the MOCHA community will celebrate the success and achievements of its students and promote arts equity at our Art IS STEAM Equity Forum and gala at our new downtown Oakland location. We hope everyone will be inspired by the talks on how kids benefit from artistic creations and expressions, as well as reflections on our remarkable students’ progress.

 

 

Jill Vialet
Co-founder, MOCHA
Will discuss why MOCHA was created and why it is needed now more than ever.

Dr. Lonny Brooks
Professor, CSU East Bay
Will talk about the significance of early arts education and how it impacts students’ higher educational paths, including STEAM.

L. Karen Monroe
Superintendent, Alameda County Office of Education 
Will discuss the importance of art in early education and how partnerships with organizations like MOCHA play a critical role in children’s lives – helping to advance STEAM equity.

 

MOCHA will celebrate supporters of children’s access to arts education and building community for arts equity.
